The following information will serve to orient you to this ministry:
The glorious gospel of Jesus Christ is the center and wellspring of our lives.
We want all that we do to be built on this foundation.
We believe that in the multitude of counselors there is safety and success.
We work in counseling teams, but the most important member of the team is the Holy Spirit, who provides hope, wisdom and enabling power to change.
All believers are to care for one another.
We are to be our “brother’s keeper” (Romans 15:14; Galatians 6:1-5; Matthew 22:19-20).
God’s goal is that you become a disciple of Jesus Christ in all areas of your life.
This is because He created you for Himself (Revelation 4:11).
The members of the counseling ministry are trained in the use of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.
Therefore, the content of our counseling is Scripture.
Confidentiality and trustworthiness are important qualities in biblical counselors/disciples.
Matters discussed in the context of counseling are held in confidence by the counseling team. However, if necessary, to serve you they may at times ask counsel of others about particular situations.
There is no charge for this ministry and non-members are welcomed.
It is a labor of love.
Your overall health is an important consideration for us in considering overall needs.
If you require medical assistance, counseling will continue whenever possible.
Understanding Your Problems From God’s View
The goal is by the grace of God to apply biblical truth to all areas of difficulty, not merely ‘fix your feelings’ or trying to change your circumstances.
Your counselor, in a spirit of gentleness, will make biblical inquiry into the various levels of your problems to help you gain God’s perspective on your problems (Proverbs 18:13; Galatians 6:1; James 1:2-4, 19, 22-25).

Biblical Hope
In Jesus Christ, you have a great High Priest who has been tempted in all things, yet is without sin (Hebrews 4:14-16).
God has promised that He will not allow any test to come into your life that will be beyond your ability to endure. He has promised to provide a way of escape from sin so that you may be able to glorify Him in the midst of the trial (I Corinthians 10:13). Through faith in the atoning cross—work of Jesus Christ, you are united with Him and can count on Him to help you by the power of the Spirit.
Biblical Practice
Being a doer of God’s Word is a vital privilege and responsibility of every child of God. It is not enough to merely hear His Word. We must also practice it.
Since your doing of the Word will be largely determined by your understanding and application of the gospel, we will return to this central theme throughout the course of counseling.

Additional Information
A counseling session will normally last from 1-2 hours and will continue for approximately 3-13 weeks.
Depending on the nature of the problem and your response to God’s Word, the number of sessions may vary somewhat.
You will need to bring your Bible and writing supplies to all meetings, including the first.
If you don’t own a Bible, please make the counselor aware of it and one will be provided. Come with high expectations. You will receive hope and encouragement from the Scriptures even during the first session.
Effective counseling requires consistency and faithfulness in the application of truth.
It is important that you reserve the designated time for the counseling sessions, barring unforeseen circumstances (Luke 14:27-30).
We consider it a privilege to serve you in this way.
Out of gratefulness to our God who has been so kind in giving us His Son to pay the penalty for our sins, we delight to share His gospel of hope and the wisdom of His ways with you.
